FDA Halts New Enrollment in TIDE

The FDA has halted new enrollment in TIDE (Thiazolidinedione Intervention with Vitamin D Evaluation), the controversial Avandia safety study, by placing the study on “partial clinical hold.” Patients already enrolled in the trial will continue to participate.
