    Emphasis should be given to Dr. Robinson’s recommendation about purchasing your own disability policy. Many jobs provide coverage, but there is great peace of mind that comes from having coverage that goes with you anywhere. You’ve invested mightily in your profession already and coverage protects that investment. During my time in practice, I have seen cardiologists and surgeons fall back on their coverage b/o hand and back issues, as well as malignancies. Some are occupational hazards; the rest are just part of life.
